Gunship - Fly For Your Life
Very interesting animation style, hard to nail down how it was achieved, really dig the pacing and edit of this.

Clams Casino
Technique has been around or a year but a cool application non the less. I could see an 'evolution' concept piece being made from this

Virgin America's Safety Video - How a Low Budget Breeds Innovation
Jon Chu, director of GI Joe: Retaliation and Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, recently updated Virgin America's pre-flight safety video. Virgin's old video is often credited for starting the arms race of fun and light-hearted safety videos. This story describes about how he worked around tight restrictions and a low budget. For example, Virgin America didn't even provide a plane or uniforms - likewise, the FAA isn't too keen on rhymes.
I wanted to share this because we are no strangers to tight budgets, timelines, or restrictions. And, how ultimately, those sorts of parameters can yield some pretty unique results.

Build Walls
After long last I have uncovered the infamous bagging video that I experienced in 1999 in the dimly lit back room of a FoodTown training center. At the time I watched this thing, it was charmingly vintage and I believe that has only increased over the years. Before we dive headlong into this gem - Lets think about his for a minute... this is a training/hype piece that a client gave the go-ahead for. Let that sink in. The pitch must have been legendary. Subsequently mankind has benefitted greatly ever since. This video also features a young Orlando Jones who went onto be on MadTV and is currently on Sleepy Hollow. Star power, kids. Anyway, enough of my yakkin', waddya say, let's boggie...

Feeling a Little 80s this Morning?
While cruising the staff picts today I came across this one and it just made me smile. Very nostalgic and good use of claymation and live action.

Nuance - Marc-Antoine Locatelli
Josh and I had a conversation about green screen heavy movies recently and talked about how actors have to act to surroundings that are missing. Like the director is calling out "good... good... now look out there is a spooky ghost behind you!!!" and the actor is expected to show real fear.

In this example the choreography was designed on the faith of the tracker/animator. Without which this would have been very very silly. This looks like it would have been a blast to edit and reminds me of Chris Cunningham's particular style of cutting to disjointed electronic music.

OK Go - I Won't Let You Down - Official Video
Yet another insane music video from OK Go. Remember when these guys were just famouse for their treadmill dancing video? And now they are filming crazy crap like this. I can't really tell but I think the whole thing was filmed with a drone? Maybe not. And it looks like still images rather than video but I'm not sure about that either. Either way, leave it to the asians to produce something insane like this.

Mission Statement - Weird Al
I had to post this last video from Weird Al's 8 days of videos because it is just so us. Not only is it a song entirely of business buzz words, but of course its done in that F-ing RSA style. Here is a link to the video. Blame Al for hosting his videos on 8 different websites.

8 Days of Weird
Well I wasn't going to post anything at first, but Weird Al is releasing a video every day for 8 days to spread the word about his new album. The first two are pretty entertaining.
Here is a link to the first cause I couldn't embed it without autoplay.
