Star Trek Into Darkness Title Design

Pretty ridiculous that they created this with AE and Element 3D. However, I'm fairly certain this would make any of our computers hemorrhage and die, so don't go asking me for some in depth planet fly through with fiery stars.

The History (and Future) of Rotoscoping in After Effects

God I love the time we live in. Seriously cool things coming for rotoscoping Adobe After Effects. You NAB guys are gonna have to check this out and let me know if it's as cool as it looks.

Adobe Dynamic Link Trouble!

I've been running into issues using the Adobe Dynamic Link feature. I used the native video file to chroma key the footage in After Effects and that's all I did in that program. I linked the comp to Premiere Pro and inserted in into the Timeline. I get these digitized/pixelated errors running across the person. It is only for 1 frame and these are the only 2 in this 30 second clip. I've encountered this problem before but the error happened in a section that needed to be cropped anyway. There is no error in the After Effects project comp. Any suggestions?? I'm just going to export a 422 .mov from After Effects then edit in Premiere Pro :/

The top of her head is slightly cropped in this frame.

The top of her head is slightly cropped and the middle of her body is sliced in half by an error.

Written By A Kid - Scary Smash

Props to Justin for finding this little gem. I thought it was very similar, conceptually, to Axe Cop.
And the obligatory making-of.

Frame of Mind

Really surprised we haven't done something like this yet, but it's always good to have a solid example to show when the opportunity comes up. Change those rectangles to hexagons, bam! I think I just sold something to Hampton.

Dan Cassaro

Wanted to introduce you to the Young Jerk that is Dan Cassaro. His work is awesome so I'm throwing it in the stew.

Ping Pong

I think this provides some pretty solid inspiration for the Shuffleboard Project.  I'd love to experiment with some crazy motion-tracked effects similar to these.  I also think the speed-ramping adds a lot to the story here.

Efsane Tekirdağ

I have no idea what country this is from, what language they are speaking, or even if this liquor they are hawking is any good. But, this is a great example of building up line work to stylistic rendering. Subtle, yet effective sound design rounds this one out.
