Saturday School

I took pictures for my final project assignment for my Photography II class on Saturday, December 14. While previewing my photos in Lightroom I noticed that my fast-paced shooting made my models walk and move again. This brought me back to my first love, video -- the moving image.

I Made it in the Toledo Blade

My friend, Peter Boyer, who is the chairman of this event, invited me to take pictures at the Toledo Zoo's largest charity event, Zoo to To. The society editor of the Blade, Barbara Hendel, wanted a picture of Peter, his wife, and the executive director of the zoo, but her staffed photographer already left. And I was there to catch the slack!

Nick Ballon - The Virtue of Wrestling

The poetic photography of Nick Ballon in his latest series The Virtue of Wrestling harkens back to a simpler time when wrestlers were viewed more like superheroes and less like 'roided out pre-madonnas.      Through amazing attention to detail, color, and composition, Ballon puts a delicate painter's touch to this otherwise brutal sport. My only problem is I want about triple the amount of photos he has in this project.
