As you may know my guilty pleasure is kung foo films and was happy to stumble upon this "Every Scene A Painting" piece. I really enjoyed the music comparison that is made to action in a scene, recognizing the flow of a scene, and meeting it with a proper edit. True to the form of his other pieces, the narrator gets a little heavy handed on his critique of American action films, but there are a lot of good takeaways. In fact a lot of these good points are seen in Chris' Machine Gun Popcorn especially its usage of an unexpected prop (cereal box) as a weapon.
I also highly recommend
IP Man. Its some of the best fighting fluidity
and clear display of fighting I have seen on screen.
