Hey dudes, I'm using the Awesome Stew as a sounding board for all of you. I currently have a 500GB Lacie drive that I worry about more and more. I want to back it up, but I have no idea what the best way to do that is. Would love some suggestions.
Well. What I did when I was in your shoes is I bought a Netgear Stora. Nerd Alert; It's a Network Attached Storage device (NAS). It'll run you about $200 (which is about the cost of a decent size hard drive anyway) but it has a second slot where you can cram another hard drive. You can configure it to mirror the data on the first drive like I did and essentially have all your stuff in two places at once.
It's been pretty good to me. I don't take advantage of all the crazy features, just the backing up part.
hmm... buy another hard drive?
ReplyDeletehaha is that really the only solution? It just feels so unsafe.
